Hey Globe listeners! It's taken me a while to catch on to this whole "blogging" thing but now that we have the opportunity at the Globe, I suppose we should snag it.
So things I've been doing recently at the Globe...
->website work - in addition to the new blog feature, there are also short bios for nearly all of our staff and DJs at the Globe. There are also pictures so you can finally match a face with a name for your favorite Globe hosts. Who knew they were so good looking, right? We also have provided descriptions of each of the shows that are syndicated under the "music" link. And at last the program guide is updated so you know who or what show is on when.
->50th Anniversary - this fall, officially October 2, WGCS celebrates its 50th anniversary. In conjunction with homecoming weekend, Jason, the GM, and I have been working on planning activities to celebrate the past 50 years of WGCS. There will be many more updates on those plans to come but for now just rest assure that we are planning to have a rockin good time. And you should keep that date open to celebrate with us!
->I have also been doing the mid-morning mix on air. It's been great fun to get back into that routine and as I always say, I love getting your requests... so call in!
->knowledge - in general I've also been learning the ropes for each aspect of the station to be as best prepared as possible for this next year. I have been working on getting better acquainted with the equipment, programs, break-downs, music and lovely people who work here obviously. I imagine that will always be a work in progress.
